Cassandra Lund
Cassandra Lund began dancing at the young age of five at Escondido Dance Arts and later at New West Ballet School. She was a scholarship recipient with both Tremaine Dance Conventions and the Joffrey Ballet School summer trainee program in New York City. She has performed with Lawrence Welk Resort musical theater, Palomar College Dance Ensemble (jazz) and Mojalet Dance Collective (modern).
In 2002 she joined the California Ballet Company as a member of the Corps de Ballet. Rising quickly through the ranks, she was promoted to soloist and then principal dancer by 2004. In 2007 she was promoted to the coveted rank of ‘Ballerina’ after her breathtaking performance as the lead in Giselle. Her other roles with California Ballet include the “Sugar Plum Fairy” in The Nutcracker, solos in Les Sylphide, Paquita, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Beauty and the Beast, and Dracula, and the title roles in Alice and Wonderland, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and Cinderella.
As the mother of two young children she believes every child has the potential for growth not only as a dancer, but also as a person, and she is committed to excellence in dance training and in bringing out the best in each individual.p>
